Pixi Glow Tonic - is it worth the hype?
Updated: May 12
Many beauty bloggers and celebrities have been raving about the Pixi Glow Tonic, but is it really worth all the hype?
Well I think so yes!
So what is it? It's an exfoliating toner, best used after cleansing. It contains glycolic acid and it dissolves the bonds binding those pesky dead skin cells to the skins surface. This allows AND accelerates new and healthy skin cells to give your skin a radiated glow. Which is perfect!
Although it is dissolving dead skin cells, there's no stinging or discomfort which is what I was worried about. Typically, any products that are dissolving exfoliators come with a rather uncomfortable side effect- but not Pixi. The tonic contains Aloe Vera to soothe and hydrate the skin. With no tightness or drying in sight! It's suitable for all skin types as well which is a huge plus.
I was a bit skeptical about how effective this tonic really was and how "endorsed" these Beauty Bloggers and Celebrities really were. But on this occasion I was wrong, they are all just raving about it! You can use the tonic morning and evening or just once a day. As I have very dry, sensitive skin I used it only in the morning. If you have oily skin and/or don't suffer from sensitivity you can use it morning and noon - but try starting with just once a day to begin with to test it out. After just 1 week using the tonic my skin was remarkably clearer and fresher.
The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you use a good SPF after applying the tonic as it can leave your skin more fragile to UV rays.
Pixi sell their Glow Tonic in different sized bottles at a very reasonable price. I suggest you pick up a smaller bottle and see what all the hype is about - you won't regret it!
Remember - it's ok not to be ok
